the second book... Metallica
I just started reading Metallica some kind of monster which is pretty much identical to the other book I read about the Chili Peppers so I'm not very interested in it at the moment. Its all about the therapy they had to go through when they were going to break up so its not very interesting since I already know the outcome of them staying together. This book is also a lot bigger than my last one so I don’t know if I am going to be able to finish it in time if I'm not very interested in it, but ill read a few more chapters and see how it goes from there. Its kind of weird how closely these books are alike because they are both documentaries on the bands.

finished the book
Yesterday i finished Red Hot Chili Peppers live in studio... Over all i was a little bit disappointed about the book. For the first few chapters it was interesting but after that it was like the same thing being repeated over and over again. the only thing i really got out of the book is that the band used a lot of drugs, then they all got clean and wrote music about their experiences with them. but there was one thing that i found interesting about the book. they told me what the different guitars and amps they used for each different song and it really helped me out when i was trying to learn one of their songs so that was interesting for me. but like i said, overall i wouldn't recomend this book to the average reader.

Going Back to the Originals
The chili peppers are a really different band as i have said many times before, it almost seems like they were all really baked when the author was interviewing them or questioning them, which wouldn't surprise me but it can go either way. Anyways, now the band is re grouping with its original members who had quit or had been fired from the band before. this urges the question "has the band started to change" if they are, why are they changing? or what has happened that they decided to change? these are things that are keeping me interested in reading the book to find out

A Familiar Pattern
Another chapter… Another band member dead or replaced. That seems to be the pattern in this book. Just when you start to find out about a member or the band starts to get used to his style he either overdoses or quits. For some reason this is only happening to the guitarists, all the other band members are the originals. Why do the Chili Peppers go through so many guitarists? I don’t know, but I am looking forward to finding out. I’m now half way through the book and the band still continues to amaze me in every way, the drugs, the alcohol, the sex. I now know why some of the songs are the way they are and I know the background behind the singer Anthony’s lyrics. It is very interesting and I am looking forward to what happens next.
